Tuesdays have been extremely difficult for me for the last few months.... It was a Tuesday morning when I lost Bernie. Today is the thirteenth Tuesday, and the three month marker. It seems like it has been so much longer.
The link above says it all for me. If it works like it is suppose to...and it doesn't look like a hyperlink to me so I probably doesn't... It will lead you to the song "I miss my friend." The song speaks to my heart.
Thank you all for sharing your stories and thoughts and letting me know I am not alone. If it weren't for you, I would think that I was grieving all wrong- because I am certain that I would expect myself to be getting better now.
My love goes out to you. Peace be with all of us today.

I'm with you. I am glad to have been lead to this site. It's amazing how much we all are so similar in the way we miss those who have gone on home. Sometimes there just aren't words to describe the level of loneliness. especially in the mornings when I first wake up. It still feels like waking to a nightmare and not waking up from one. I'm ready to wake from this one anytime. I still have to hold onto knowing she hasn't ceased to exist but simply moved to that other dimension. And someday I will see her again. Take care.
Peace, Tim
My thoughts are with you. Peace and love to you also.

Yes, Katie, Bernie died at around 8am on December 29th. He had gotten out of bed at 7:13 that morning to go to the bathroom. I stayed in bed and actually fell back to sleep. When he came back to bed he was in distress. He hadn't been able to talk for a couple of months. So he couldn't tell me what was happening, but his struggle only lasted a couple of minutes at the most- and then, as I stood over him watching, he took his final breaths. He had just completed chemo and radiation on the 24th. The doctors were telling us that it looked like the cancer was gone from his throat and lymph nodes, but they wouldn't know for sure until he had healed from the radiation completely and they were able to scope him again. We were warned that he might be quite sick for a couple of weeks after therapy ended, but the prognosis was very good and we had no idea.....
I wished we shared a happier anniversary date Kate, instead of sharing the date that we were widowed. I hope we are both quick to regain our footing in this world and get back to the business of living. You are in my thoughts!
