Kaaren is right, you need to think about this long and hard before making any decisions.
I don't know your situtation, but you may need to consider a nursing home as some point.
Not because you don't want to care for your father, but for his welfare. My father has reached the point where he gets lost. He still drives, a frightening thought, and has trouble finding his way to places he has gone a thousand times. He forgets where he parks his car and has had to have help finding it. That's just a couple of examples.
If you work, how can you watch him all day? The time may come when you have to consider a nursing home for his safety...... and, sadly, yours.
I would encourage you to visit a few nursing homes in your area and find out if he would be eligible, the cost, etc. it's important you educate yourself regarding all your options before you make a decision.
God bless.

In the beginning my mom was confused. We could deal with that. Then she became very angry and we even tried to deal with that, like you have been The next stage she started hitting us. She would go off and God help the person trying to stop her. She became very irrational and stubborn.
Don't wait as long as we did. My mom didn't even remember hitting us or why or where she wanted to go. We needed her in a safe place. Give it some thought. It's a hard decision. Sharon
