Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.

My husband of 35 years passed a little over a year ago, sometimes the sadness hits unexpectedly but most of the time I'm dealing okay with losing him. Those of us that have lost our spouses, will grieve differently, but I feel the feelings we experience are similar. In time you will begin to heal and find your place. It does take time for some. I said a prayer for you for healing and comfort.
You have come to a place where we all understand exactly how you feel. The first months will be tough, everything is "overwhelming and confused" but time WILL make it better and we are all here to help you through this journey.
hugs...
My wife went home in August last summer. What you are saying and feeling is all to familiar. I still somehow am looking for this to be over. For my wife to walk thru the door returning from the grocery store and asking me to get the groceries out for her. The mornings are the worst. First waking up and she isn't there. The one thing I have been wrestling with is accepting that it isn't something I will get over but something I have to learn how to live with. My wife and I are of faith so that has gotten me to here. The folks on this site have been tremendously supportive and the best part, I know all will know what I mean by this, everyone here has been thru it and they get this. Unless you go thru it you just can't get what this is like. I hope you come her often and express what ever your comfortable with. My prayers are with you. And it will be O.K. on that day.
Peace, Tim
