Hello everyone--
On May 22, it will be 2 years that my life partner left this earth, in the physical sense anyway. I am at peace knowing he is always with me and around me. It allows me to enjoy my life on my own terms and in my own way.
There are days where I yearn for him more than others, however I did all I could, and so did he, towards his recovery to live and live life to the fullest. Cancer is an evil beast and has a hunger to claim the best.
So many what we call "well-meaning" people have told me I'm so young, I have my whole life ahead of me, and one day some nice man will come along and sweep me off my feet. Well, hmmmm, let's see. I don't call 55 that young, nor that old, no one (including me) knows how much time I have left, and I had a nice man sweep me off my feet in the 70's. I married him and I lost him. He was the ONLY man I wanted to spend my entire life with.
It's funny how everyone else wants to dictate your life, instead of trying to at least understand or sympathize with the full impact your loss had had on your life. All I can say is that I am fine the way I am, thank you. I'm happy with the new life I have carved out for myself, and my heart is bursting with love for that precious person I lost.
It does get better. Some days are easier and others are harder. You don't get over it, you don't get use to it. You adapt to it.
Just wanted to share. Blessings.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I'm like you in that I feel my husband very much in my life. That is my happiness.
Gentle ((hugs)) Patricia
