I mention that I have decided to downsize from my four level home to a senior residence. My daughters have appointments and we have toured four facilities. I am 75 and the steps are becoming difficult to go up and come down. The first residence required a 200,000 buy in. It was fabulous, but even after the initial entrance fee, it would be between 3,000 and 3,500 each month. We have looked at three others and toured. My daughter has a condo in an area just outside of Chicago proper, and was asked if I would be interested in a one bedroom condo that is empty. It is on the floor below my daughter in a elevated building and I could walk around the neighborhood. The apartment has to be updated and I could easily afford the HOA fee. For those of us who practice the christian faith, I request your prayer and positive thoughts that this is destined for me. I know my daughters would be so relieved.
