Like Mrs JRS, we'd make the bed together on Sat. and Sundays. Sometimes, that would evolve into a pillow fight!
Like Linda, I haven't yet changed the pillowcase on his special pillow. It no longer smells like him, like it did for several weeks, but I still haven't changed it. I often hug that pillow at night and (don't laugh) kiss it in the morning before I leave for work.
I hope you feel better soon. Love and Hugs, Martha
It's been 4 months tomorrow - and I still cry every day too.
Hugs
I think my only saving grace regarding the sheets came from laughing each time I changed them even before he died. He had already gone to work and when I walked past his side I saw this brown mess on the sheets. I was furious that he would think to even leave a mess of that kind for me to clean up. Well turns out that particular warm summer night he fell asleep on the bag of chocolate chips. We(I) have laughed ever since.
I am sorry for your pain Pat.
I have been used to sleeping by myself but when I was there for the funeral and all, I slept on his side. That way I didn't have to see an empty space.
Don't know how it will be when I get moved back there. Will take some getting used to I am sure. It will really sink in that he is gone when I am there daily. I am anxious to get there though. I hate not being able to go to the cemetery.

Good Night, John Boy
Id say goodnight, but I dont say those words anymore.
Youre not here, so who would hear them?
The Waltons is off the air. Only re-runs now.
You know how we always had our sides of the bed?
You decided that from the start. That imaginary line down the center.
Stay on your side.
Somehow I usually managed to sneak across that line,
Mostly when you were sleeping.
Just to feel your warmth, to touch your skin.
How I loved those nights I slept cradled in your arms,
Cheek to cheek,
Breath upon breath.
I dont sleep on my side anymore.
Ill NEVER sleep on yours.
Well, truth be told, I dont sleep much at all anymore.
I lie alone in the middle of our bed
Hoping sleep will come searching for me.
I had this illusion that lying in the middle of the bed
Would somehow make it seem less empty.
But it was just that an illusion.
Everythings empty without you.
