This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I took a road trip this past weekend from CO to MN. Unfortunately I had a couple things that were not pleasent with my in-laws, but:
I had the most amazing expirience with an old friend. Through out our marriage Tim and I had roommates. Friends in need of a place to stay. One of our roommates lost his wife at the end of March. We met for lunch and spend 12 hours talking. It was such a breath of fresh air to talk to someone who knows exactly what I am going through.
I haven't felt that at peace in a long time.
I am not interested in group sessions, but it was nice to have the one on one with him. Our experiences mirrored each others.

I'm so glad you were able to find a little respite on this sad journey of ours. We need peace in any form we can get it. Hopefully, yours has recharged you with the strength to continue. And, thank you for sharing something positive among all the tragedy.
