Hello to all of you, especially those of you who have seen my topics online.
Welcome to all newcomers.
I haven't been on the site for about a month or more possibly. I had my computer failing on me ready to crash so I was busy saving all my important info/paperwork, pictures etc onto my external hard-drive. That took over 2 weeks. Then I started having the sim card in my cell phone going out on me, and so I had to switch my phone number to my husband's cell phone. So with that came entering all my phone numbers from the other phone. Oh it was a real time consuming project. I ordered my new computer and it came in about 2 to 2-1/2 weeks. I now have Windows 10 but couldn't get my email to sync up with my ISP. Since I am so rural, my ISP isn't up to date on the new version of Windows. But anyway after several calls and many hours of back and forth setup I am FINALLY back , computer working etc. thanks to a person on the Microsoft tech team. He was the only one who got it done for me.
Things have been okay. I had one really bad week of severe grief and now it's better. I saw my doctor about a week ago. Bloodwork all good etc but this was the first time I cried in front of him. I just told him I was stressed and very overwhelmed with all I have to sell that Don bought that I can't, don't know how or will never use. He understood and was very good about talking to me. My tears didn't last long.
But this month on the 16th is the one year mark my hubby Don, died. My sister asked me if i'd like to do something in his honor. I have some ideas, unfortunately on that particular day some people will be working so I am considering what to do. I did receive some mail from the Hospice company and they sent me some very good information about what to expect and what others may think and ideas for honoring my hubby. I was glad they sent it.
So I hope all of you are doing okay and getting by with maybe a bucket full less of tears these days.
I am staying busy with animals and cleaning up the barn. A generator Don bought was leaking fuel and the barn smelled strong of gasoline and I couldn't find where it was coming from, then finally I saw it was the generator. Looks like a rodent got a mouthful of gasoline.
But I managed to get it outside with the handy dandy tractor and I used a jack lift to keep it angled up so the fuel would stop leaking. A friend of ours came and changed out the fuel lines for me. A fine young man who really loved my hubby like a father. He has helped me a lot. He told me when he was here that he promised Don he would take care of me.
He's only 23 years old, so looks like I have care for many years to come!
LOL!! His girlfriend is sweet too and when she comes with him she helps me clean horse stalls and do some general clean up.
Well my dear widows and widowers, I hope this thread finds all of you in good health and that broken leg out there (Yes YOU, D) I hope you are better and out of your cast.
I am going to make me some Chamomile tea and have a some hard caramel candy while I see what's on the boob tube.

Many others want me to get rid of my horses, dogs, cats and large house. I can not imagine living anywhere but the country.

But I too still live in the country with our 3 dogs, 2 cats and I board and care for 3 horses. I am working with one of them who has some issues, flighty and lack of trust/confidence. He's coming along. I learned from my husband. He broke/trained horses for all of our married life.
I too love the country and don't like lectures on how I should move back to the city to be closer to everyone. Like it'll change anything. Sure at first, then everyone is too busy and it is just like when you lived an hour away again.
That's why we have phones, LOL.
I can't leave here. My hubby built our entire place from an empty 50 acres. This is the only place my pets know. I don't know how long I will stay. But I know for sure about 3 more years.

I hope you get through the one-year ok. I was a mess for mine before and after but am ok now with lots of plans.

You do so much around your property, its always very impressive when you describe the next challenge that arises that you've dealt with. I suspect getting past the 16th will be another challenge you meet head on.
