Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
so sorry on the loss of your wife. best advice I could give you is be around family and friends a lot, it is gonna to take time, you are grieving and that will take time , so more time than others,
you are completely normal by the way , I am sorry you have to be here, but this is definitely a good place to be,
great people are here,
hugs
Diane
I twill take time, one step at a time.
Love and peace to you,
Sandra.
One day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time.
Lean on family and friends for support.
Is there a grief support group in your area? Maybe an appointment with a therapist would help?
You are not alone. We've all been on this journey.
We're here for you.
Hugs,
Janie
Numbness is absolutely normal. You are still in shock. It's the body/mind's way of keeping you somewhat "sane" right now. Don't over think it. Allow yourself to be numb . . .it's okay.
BTW, I always like to add this reminder for those that are not familiar with the acronym DABDA (the stages of grief) . . and they don't necessarily go in this order, but rather back and forth and all over the place.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
All quite normal ranges of emotions you will begin to experience at some point when you are ready and the numbness starts to dissipate. It's okay . . you will be okay. Time eventually heals. Be gentle with self.
Big hug, Dayna
as everyone has already said, this seems to be "normal" and from everything i have read, its just one of the many ways our body helps us cope with the enormity of this situation. I will just add, you won't necessarily go through the stages called out, Denial, Anger , Bargaining ,Depression , Acceptance in any particular order..I seem to bounce around through them at this point myself..
This journey sucks, but you are not alone, we are all here for you

When will the fog lift; when will the skies clear; when will I see you again?
Questions that NO ONE has the answers to and we dare not ask!
We search for relief from this misery of sadness. Will life ever look inviting again?
I'm here for you and you're here for me.......That I'm sure of!
