That's when it's good to ask a neighbour for help. So many friends/neighbours don't know how to help, what could be better than having them help with a heavy item. I think it makes them feel useful too.

I'd say you have more energy than me. I'd have to eat the candy first to get the energy to haul the darned thing up.

Please be careful. I always think I can do it all too, until it catches up with me.

I'm feeling better now. I'm new in the building, so I really don't know anyone to ask. I could have asked my SIL, but his back is bad and I would feel awful if something happened to him. That left me. I had a plan. I climbed each step by putting the TV on the step ahead. I took a rest every 3 steps. It took me about 5 minutes to get the thing in. I think my problem came in pushing the electric fireplace away from the wall so I could connect it. I've solved that problem by buying one of those power surge protectors, so I won't have to move the thing again.

I've just got to work smarter. The scary part was realizing that if I passed out(and I have in the past) there would be no one to help me.

We do it because we have to, or until we learn to ask for help. Asking for help is very hard for me. I have learned or am learning to ask for help.

appliance carts/dollies are great for moving odd sized items; esp heavy ones and up stairs

If you cannot have large items delivered I found that an appliance dolly works wonders. They have straps and stair rollers for naviagting stairs. Be careful and don't get hurt. You are very important.

When I go to the farmers market, I take my suitcase cart and several plastic crates that stack on top of each other and it is great.
The suitcase cart folds up for storage and is a great thing to have.
Check them out, we don't want you hurting yourself.

Sounds like something I'd have done, especially a few years ago...now with a ruptured disk in my lower back, I'm a bit more careful....most of the time.....lol....glad you had some candy, if it helped, you were probably hypoglycemic....I agree with jerseydebbie, next time eat the candy first...lol.... & please, be careful...we don't want anything to happen to you....
