That is great that you have decided to find a way to honor his and your special days. I have also chosen to celebrate those days instead of staying home and grieving. I feel much closer to Jeanne on those special days as hard as it is not to have them next to us to hug and kiss.

happy birthday to your sweet husband...its his heavely birthday. I'm sure he sees how beautiful the garden looks. I went to our favorite first date meeting place on his birthday, bought him a birthday card, and celebrated with our girls what wouldve been his 53rd birthday in may. He had a heavely birthday for sure, but then he would probably only be about 30... they say... when they are in heaven, they are at their best, and most wonderful feeling time of their life..So Im sure sean is stoked hes young again, no more pain.. and can be with us hourly, daily 24/7 watching over us girls. big hugs carla

Yes, birthday wishes in remembrance of your husband. I love your idea of plantings for remembrance. Not to digress here, but reminds me of one of those big arguments we had that we later laughed at over the years. I was a "do it by the book" kinda guy when we decided to plant a bunch of roses. Well I was digging are really big hole, and Juanita kept saying it was deep enough, and I said no, the book said the hole needs to be so and so deep and wide. Well, she kept saying that was enough. So I went and got the tape measure to either (a) prove I was right, or (b) prove she was wrong. OUCH - that was the wrong thing for me to do and she really blew a gasket over that and let me have it - no ifs, ands, or buts. Funny thing was, we were planting "Peace Roses". (And never again did I go get a tape measure to try to win an argument). We laughed over that one for years. So I think planting a peace rose every year on her birthday would be a really good idea for me to do in her remembrance ~ Scott

Thanks all for your posts, it all helped me get through the day. Scott had a good chuckle over your rose dispute with Juanita. The "peace" rose planting is a great idea. The yard always seemed to be my husband's domain so I am now giving it my best to keep it all going. We can do this !!!!
