I just wanted to tell you all how great it has been having some hunters we used to associate with staying at my house has been.
They lost two of their fellow hunters in 2010 also - one from cancer and one heart attack like Roger.
I was worried having 4 of them here with just me but only 3 made it.
AND worried they would have problems with my barking yellow lab - except for the one who usually is the one dogs like the best (he came two days later) they have spoiled Chelsea rotten and love her. One sent a phone message to wife's computer saying he fell in love with a blonde over here and sent her picture....Even tho' it was just 3 they paid me for like it was four here.....AND they cook on their own, they do not want to put me out at all.....
They have been so neat to talk to and converse with: we sat around the fire last evening and it was so nice how great and gentlemen they were - they were grateful I had a place for them as their reservations at the RV park were messed up - I will be so lonesome when they go again, even though all day long they are hunting
BUT alas no elk yet....I wanted a steak or two....

Hopes for many steaks for you! Never had Elk, but have had buffalo, and Gator myself.

bummer.....I did not realize that would happen to be honest with you, but it showed up this am and than I read my postings and replies and it was so true....Life is so about people around us isn't it....living alone without that someone special sure changes so much....IT makes me realize how having someone around is so precious..
