I don't know how... I just try to ignore it! I know that ads have to appear but sometimes it gets annoying when it interferes with our posting and reading post! I have lost count of the times when I start to scroll and accidentally hit the kava kava ad and it takes me to their site. I hope someone can answer your question I would love an answer!

Basically you can't unless you have an ad blocker. If you use Firefox there is an ad blocker - I don't see any ads at all on the DS pages.

If anyone wants to know how to get the ad blocker, just ask.

Damn, I miss all the good stuff. What browser are you using. I use Firefox with Ad-Block and I don't see any of that.

i accidentally hit it one time and a young girl got on and started talking to me and i asked her if she was a widow and she said no but her father had a problem touching her and she had a problem with drugs .so i said have a nice day and got off with her .my daughter and i had a good laught about it .scott

scott, I rather think that was not an ad but another DS member on meebo chat. Might have been genuine - people get desperate and contact complete strangers. I used to get alot because I was on DS at odd times being in the UK. Now I simply stay offline.

oops, I think I may have confused myself - maybe it was a DS member if it was meebo - I didn't realise there is a another chat available from DS? sorry!

Tru, I used to get that stuff until I installed the ad blocker. It's worth it to install the ad blocker for another reason, too - it speeds up how fast DS pages load. I got sick and tired of all of the offensive ads that came through. The ads feed through based on key words in the discussions. Unfortunately, for this group it's usually way inappropriate stuff. Like a discussion on how you met your spouse would feed in dating services and singles groups ads.

serach for "ad block". I use "ad block plus".

It may ask you about adding a list. That is basically a subscription to an updated list of ads and ad providers/ technologies. There is one called something like "general" or usual or standard - pick that one.

It's all free. Do it once and you don't need to do anything more.

In what ever window you have open go to tools and then opions and check mark the ad blocker. Also when that chat comes up go to the right corner and bring up chat, available and click on unavaialable.
