My sister and I overheard "girl relationship drama" last week. We looked at each other, rolled our eyes, and considered ourselves lucky that we didn't have to deal with it.

I used to think Mel was kinda hot for an old guy. Now, I think he's scum. I, too, am fortunate that I never had to deal with that. Always told Todd I had a cast iron skillet with his name on it. Kaaren

I am sure that Mel is no saint. I have had the misfortune to be in an abusive relationship that I escaped alive from and believe when you are that angry things come out of you that you don't even know you had. I view this woman who went after a married prominent actor had her affair with him getting pregnant as a predator. For her to record this conversation and sell it to the media is unthinkable and entrapment. I think there are two sides in any story and she is orchestrating his failings to only her advantage without thought of anything but destruction to a man she was supposed to love. My jury is interested in the truth and I think it will surface.
I would never never want to be in a relationship that had so much drama and hatred.

Linin - I appreciate the way you think. I never thought about it in that manner. I always felt very sorry for celebrities, never ever would want to live a life like they do. And this is the prime example of how bad it can get.

I have to say I agree with both Truhal and Linin. I am so thankful that Bill would never have even considered talking to me in such an agressive and disrespectful way - whilst at the same time thinking that no one other than those within a relationship can make judgements about a relationship. The view from the outside can be quite different from that within.

Someone once told me about a person who said some bad things about someone while drunk. I'll never forget it. I believed that liqour was doing the talking, but the person quickly pointed out that the drunk was saying his sober thoughts. I'd say the same about Mel. Whereas I'd never presume to know what goes on between two people in a relationshio, I do know that no matter how angry or hurt I've been, I would never say the racial and sexist things Mel said. And neither would my husband say them to me. Mel Gibson's anger has revealed the person that he is.

As for the woman, I'd say she is manpulative and had an easy job trapping Mel into saying what he said. All she had to do was wait for him to act his true self.

No matter what type of woman she is, if he hit her, he was wrong.

Sick as this is, I had a girlfriend once who was in an abusive relationship physically and mentally. During arguements which were started by both she would offer her face and tell him "Go ahead and hit me" she would really be asking for it and ultimately he would. I would feel sorry for her and help her. Finally she divorced him and later found another guy and got married and repeated the same thing. She would come to my house to hide only to disrupt my routine and go back. I finally broke ties with her as she was bringing me down. This is drama, some women thrive on this sort of drama. Some people thrive on the attention being a victim brings them.
