Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
But not by God's design. I think a lot of us can't remember maybe the intense loneliness we felt as singles seeking a partner, and so this new loneliness feels foreign and unbearable but it's actually just a reset to the former loneliness... It's all unhealthy in any context. Pour out your heart to God( he cares for us) and keep looking for people who will love and be loved...
Many of my friends have done the same to me. It's baffling!!
My husband has been gone for 6 years now, which seems unbelievable ......trying to be ok with just myself.
It's not easy.
Glad we have this group to help give us support and hear similar experience. Is reassuring that we're not going crazy!!!
This is devastation. I never felt this when single.
At that time, my whole life was ahead of me. Now undoubtedly, most my life is behind me. That is just doing the math.
That said, I still want to feel hope for my future. I wait for it.
B.
We were married 39 years, 4 years for me since his passing.
Everyone continues their life, we are left to pick up our remaining pieces.
Our quest: to plod along, difficult to figure it all out.
Right now with the warm weather I can walk outdoors, in the winter will go to the mall.
I take a book with me, after ordering when out at a restaurant myself, to read.
A local hospital or church may offer support groups. I know some have formed new friendships, when I participated there were few in attendance & some didn't return so that didn't happen for me.
So...another day, I try to be positive...
Good to read, to know from this site others are experiencing the same.
Blessings
