I’m using my husbands pillow and sleeping on his side of the bed. I get it.

I still sometimes wear some of my husband's clothes , a flannel shirt, pajama pants. I've been wearing his big, heavy snow boots with multiple pairs of socks. It helps us keep a part of them with us. It still hurts but not like it did in the beginning. I can breathe most of the time now.

I do that too,but with my Moms perfume. Helps me sleep

His clothes were the first thing to go. Now this is just me, but pillows, bedding, etc. thrown away or given away. It's too raw. I even bought a complete new bed and mattress set. People cope in different ways. This is mine. I will keep some of his books, but I have been shredding a lot of unimportant papers. I am hoping to eventually eradicate the bad memories and be able to think about the good years we had, few though they were. I am just now able to do that with a former husband who passed in 2010, 8 years ago.

I slept wrapped up in his old bathrobe. It was all I had left that smelled like him, and I would imagine him holding me. It helped me sleep.

My sister bought me a 'body pillow' one of those big 5-foot long bolster pillows. I could sleep with that on his side of the bed, and then when I'd bump into it I would not wake up because the bed was empty. When you sleep together for 30 years, sleeping alone is hard to get used to.

If it helps to spray her perfume, you go right ahead and do it.

I have a neck pillow of my love beside my head pillow. Not the one she slept on, but one that she made for me. It is where it is supposed to be.

One time we both decided to turn over at the exact same time, and he kicked my foot hard. He had long legs like a giraffe. I told him my toe was broken, and he said "Nah." So I didn't go get x-rays, and long story short, my toe is crooked to this day.

All coments are very familiar. .. i cuddle his tee shirt with his aftershave on, i have a big cuddly dog that he bought me and i put his wedding ring on a gold ribbon round his neck and his watch on its arm .... god i miss my darling husband so very very much .. hugs to you all x

Rick51....I think that is so sweet. Nothing is weird....we all are doing what we have to do to get through this journey. Your wife is probably smiling at the thought that you spray her perfume. I hope your pain lessens with time.
