Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I know the uncomfortable feeling you experience from the passing of your husband. I missed my husband during the special events too. However, try to stay nearby to the love of family and friends during special occasions. The best to do is message your mind to new ways to be happy about what's going on at the moment and not to think too far ahead. And it is so true that watching the world go by is at times emotional.
Are you familiar with using public message boards or social media? I will leave you a link to how to better use the DS support network.
Find a happy thought today. You deserve it. <3

Thank you for sharing. I hope you will find comfort here. You are not alone, we are here for you. Stay in the forum and feel free to share about anything. May you be surrounded with God’s peace and strength. Take care.
I have been talking with my local grief partners and we are all in the same boat. Two of us lost our wives days before Thanksgiving last year so like you, it was too new to even experience the pain we feel this year will bring. I think it will also be complicated, because people had an expectation last year that I would not participate. I think they may not understand my continued struggles.
I think I will alternate between trying to do the basics of life, communicating with widowed people for support, and feeling like crap.
I realize this is not much help to anyone, other than to say I feel what you’re feeling, and I am sorry for your loss, and I hope we all get through this the best we can.
Joe
