My new grandson was three weeks old on Friday. He is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way. I've been able to babysit a few times and oh how bitter/sweet that can be. When I rock him I cry. I cry because his grandpa isn't here to share. All the future things he won't know first hand like his older sister and cousin do about their grandpa. I tell him about grandpa and how much he loved us all and it makes me so damn sad I can barely stand it. My little Chet just looks me in the eyes and moves his little mouth as if he is trying to talk to me. Oh such inocense. I so want to believe my husband is still with us all and always will be. How cruel life can be to strip such a good loving man from our family far too soon. Last year on Easter he was home confined to a hospital bed and receiving hospice care. We are nearing the one year mark and have been through most of the year of firsts. It doesn't seem to be getting much better. The lonelyness and aloneness are so overwhelming at times. Yet, I am so very blessed. But all my blessings are because of him. This journey is absolutely exhausting for sure. At some point in time I hope and want to believe that part of the old me, the part that cared about so much I don't care about now will return. Will the tears ever stop? I don't think so. Sorry for rambling. Just another one of many of those days. Hugs and Love to all, Michele

About 4:00 PM on June 12, 2015, we were faced with removing Marylou's life support...after 25 days in the hospital, she had been in a coma for the prior 4 days from a ruptured brain aneurism, and there was no chance she would ever regain consciousness...the last thing I did before I gave the nurses the nod, I held her hand a final time, and whispered a promise into her ear...that as long as I am around, our 9 grandchildren would know their grandma through me, especially the 3-year-old, who had not reached the age of recall while she was alive...and the rest goes without saying.
They are not with us in the physical any more...but in the 9-1/2 months since, I have learned that they are otherwise very much with us...we are Spirit, before this life, during this life, and after...the part of us that are Spirit in this life can feel the Spirit of our beloved...and that is the same Spirit Realm where Chet just arrived from...please have faith that Grandpa is right there with his new Grandson...and he is with you.

God Bless You and your New Grandson.
I have felt exactly the same way about my grandson who came into the world on November 7th 2015. He is our first grandchild. I stabs my heart that Bob will never know the joy of a grandchild and it feels so lonely to experience this without him. sigh...
Cheri~
I hope you can find your joy again.
Hugs, Sandi
Sending you big hugs. Enjoy the moments of joy that you experience. They are what help us continue to put one foot in front of the other as we journey forward in life as best we can.
Aloha dear friend,
Lori
And so life goes full circle. Nothing better than welcoming a new person into this world. So no one gets confused, my wife of 30 years, Juanita, was 10 years older than me. Juani had 2 teenagers when we got married - a 15 year old daughter and a 13 year old son. The daughter did not marry until about 3 years ago, and the son did not think he could have children because of his 10 year drug run. So we had given up all hope of ever having grandkids. Then all of the sudden, boom! Juanita was about 58 or 59 when her son got serious with a woman (he'd been married twice before, both short term). Well this new one was a package deal -- she already had Dominic who was 3 or 4 when we first met him -- grandson #1. Brooklyn was already on the way when they got married. She is now 6. And then came little Carlos, he is 4 now. Oh my, I didn't think it was possible for someone to love kids anymore than Juani loved her 3 grandkids. They moved away from WA to Iowa for him to get his masters, so we saw them mainly in the summers for the next 3 years. But grandma was on the phone with them every night, Carlos was more interested in crying than going to sleep, so Grandma would sing on the phone to him -- just making up songs -- and believe me when I say that Juani was no singer. But most nights, she'd sing to that little one for at least an hour until he'd fall asleep. Well, he got his master's and then got a job teaching college poetry classes at a University about an hours drive from here. That was about 4 months before Juani started losing weight and the nightmare began. With the summer before his job started, Juani got to spend about 7 months with her grandkids when in perfect health. By the time the diagnosis came, Juani was unable to travel anymore, but like troopers, her son and our daughter in law came over here with the grandkids every Saturday for about 4 months until she died.
I share all this with you Michele, because it was a week or so before Juani died. In tears she told me that the only reason she wanted to stay here was to see her grandkids grow up. Honestly, I did not think it possible for one person to love others as much as Juanita loved her grandkids. My believe is that she got her heart's desire, and is seeing her grandkids grow up -- except now she has a way better view from heaven and through my eyes too. Hang onto that Michele, you love those grandkids like nobodies business, spoil them rotten, let Grandpa see them through your eyes Michele, and let those kids know their Grandpa by all the stories you tell them about him. Sad day for me. God bless and comfort you and all of us ~~~ Scottie
He needs you to teach him about grandpa. Who better to this than the one who was the closest to him. I think grandpa is watching from above and just as happy about his birth as you. And in the long run all our families will be together again for eternity.
Peace, Tim
I believe that he is always with me and our family, watching over us. Our guardian angel. To not believe this would make life unbearable for me.
I hope your new little one brings you joy and helps you find some peace.
I'm new to this group and was glad I found someplace that understands. Cindy
