I am hoping for the best, and determined to make her day special and memorable for good reasons.
I am excited on the one hand to go "home"; yet saddened that this was the place of our "beginning". Mixed memories and experiences abound.
Bittersweet describes my emotions of travel as well. I concur . . I shall look forward to my trip and receive all the hugs and kisses I can from my gal pals while I'm there. I need them more than anything.
Best wishes to you for safe travel and a wonderful healing trip. xo, Dayna

Norb, would want you to see your friends, go to the wedding and just have a lovely relaxing time with the friends he loved too. It will be bittersweet at times but it will be a healing step....
I am so happy you are going on this trip, you truly deserve it!
Lots of hugs,

Like Dayna, I have a trip planned to go back to where it all began - it was California for us. It will be the first time I have been back since Cliff died. I am looking forward to going back, seeing my CA family, and the kids are real excited about getting to see some of the places from their childhoods again. I am just hoping it won't open too many old wounds. I am well aware of the old saying that "you can never go home again" but hoping it will all be okay. I think it is important that I reclaim that part of myself. And I am looking forward to getting some of the best Mexican and Chinese food in the world! :) Hard to find that here, especially Mexican and Tex-Mex. Oddly, Oxford has one burrito place called Mission Burrito, named after the San Francisco district. Cliff and I lived close to the Mission District when we were first married. A small piece of home.....
Have a wonderful time!
Love and Hugs,
Martha
