2 weeks today it'll be my beautiful Matt's birthday. Last year I absolutely loved being able to spoil him and see his face when he opened his presents. He made my birthday last year so perfect and I was already panicking about what I could do to make his birthday as special, it tears me up inside I can't do anything for him.
Although he's not here I still want to get something or do something for him though. For Christmas I got his a tree planted in a beautiful part of Scotland we stayed in last year as it holds so many special memories for us. I want to do something special to commemorate his birthday too, but what?? I obviously will get him some nice flowers but that's nothing special, I take him flowers every week.
I was just wondering if anyone has ideas or if anybody has done something special to celebrate their loved ones birthday?

Last year my daughter and family celebrated with dinner and a cake just as we always did. I don't know if we will do that this year or not. It isn't until April so we haven't talked about it yet. I like to celebrate the occasions like my husband's birthday and our anniversary but not necessarily in the same way. For our anniversary, I went with my daughter and family to the circus. It was completely different than anything we had done, but the day was still celebrated.

November 20,2013 was my husband's birthday. I wanted to go see Last Vegas, just me, but my daughter and grandson joined me and we laughed through the whole movie. Afterwards my grandson treated us to lunch at a Mexican restaurant. I just received the dvd of Last Vegas from Amazon. My daughter and I are going to Vegas the last week in this month.

Some of the best gifts are the simplest ones. Since you take him flowers every week, why not add a birthday card, with words from your heart.

This was the birthday since his passing in August 2013. I really did not do anything special. It was a very hard day and I had to go to work. My step-son and daughter-in-law and my grandkids did call and talk to me (they live 2 1/2 hrs away). Maybe we'll do something next year.
