He's the one who could make me feel truly beatutiful after a bad haircut decision. He's the one who could make it all right if I spent too much on the girls. He's the one who made the world right when everything was going wrong. He's the one who made life exciting just sitting at home talking. He's the one who was interested when I was babbling on. He's the one who colored my world when all was black and white. i loved who I was in his eyes. He was the one who made me me. Who am I now?

I ask myself the same question every day. I don't feel like I know how to be any kind of person right now. And I know that I'll never be the person I was when I was with him.

I feel the same way too. I will never be the person I was when my husband was here. Life will never be the same.

I know my life will never be the same. He was my soulmate. Life is so hard. I miss him so much.
It will be a year May 18th, I am finding life a little better,but not much,as the rest of you know its the
memories thank God for them. I think it is the loneliness that is the hardest.

But we are the same people they loved. That's who we are and we should go on being. For me my identity has to be in Christ the rock. Jesus says apart from him you can do nothing. He holds all things together. That includes us widows/widowers...

The last conversation that my husband and I had was that it was time for him to move on to his eternal life. He was ready to go, but only if he knew I would be okay without him. I assured him that I would be okay. So in order to keep my promise to him, I am the same independent woman I was before we were married, only better because of his love and our life together. Like Julia Roberts said in Steel Magnolias" I'd rather have had 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special".

So true. Time has been strange lately, been 8 mos. but seems like 2 weeks or 2 years. No it will never be the same, but he will always be with you and belief in God or spirit that watches over us all will help. And this group. Here for you. It does get better but we each have our own way of healing. Take care of yourself try to find activities you enjoy, pets are great and good friends.
