Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Dreams of our loved ones are common. They happen to me a lot. The dead can come to us and communicate with us in dreams. It is something magical and wonderful.
I do find sometimes in my conversations with my wife's ghost, which I do have on occasion because I'm Schizoaffective and thus psychic and can talk to her ghost, that we find ourselves hashing out big issues that we didn't get to resolve when she was still alive.
I find it's best to appreciate these rare moments of contact with our dearly departed and express what we need to express to them. the dead will listen. They are usually reaching out to us just as we are reaching out to them, just from the other side.
Hugs,
Jean
I know we're not supposed to wallow in our anger but guess what, it's a real feeling, and when I'm truly angry I don't want anyone to tell me to feel less than I'm feeling. So, in that regard, I'm going to tell you to go with it. Let it happen. We have every right to be angry. I'm now feeling anger directed at Morey, himself. He stopped seeing his doctor and said he could take better care of himself then the medical community........Yeh! Right!
I'm angry at some family members who treated both Morey and I with indifference and now want me to welcome them into my life.....Yeh! Right!
I'm angry at another family member who borrowed $25,000.00 from me....assuring me that it would be paid back within 3 months, "guaranteed!".....Yeh! Right!
Can I let the anger go.....probably, am I ready to.....Not yet! Does it stop me from enjoying my life, working, taking care of my dear Service Dog or loving my children and Grandchildren......Not Even!
Life will go on and so will the bills and all that goes with life.
Feel what you need to feel. Know where to put the anger when you need to and if our dreams allow us to deal with the anger, all the better!
Kindly,
Roz
I practice and taught martial arts and owned my own school for many years so I have experience venting my anger through meditation and physical training but not everyone is exposed to such methods and for some anger is a foreign emotion that is hard to deal with.
As Jean said if you are not an angry person you won't be stuck in that mode for long. For now though go ahead and get angry. I have a 100 lb heavy bag hanging in my garage that's in for an ass kicking when the angry mood rears it head. Take care. ~Pete
Just let the anger out.
I feel guilty in retrospect, about being angry 'too soon'.
but there's no point in trying to rationalize with how we feel, or what we feel. There's no way to go around it. Find ways to express it, if you don't, Then it will own you.
Facing my anger was easier than facing how deep my pain is.
I was immediately angry when he died. He was home with hospice and I was alone at his bedside when he peacefully passed. When the mortuary removed his body they left a rose on the pillow. I did not see them leave it and when I saw it I exploded. I demanded to know "where that DANGER ROSE came from. I continued to obsess over it all day.
I believe all my anger over losing the love of my life was brought to bear on that single red rose. For the next month i kept asking "what do i do with that d... rose?"
I had what I figure was a visitation the night I brought his remains home. We were sitting across from each other, but not saying a word...I started to say something to the effect of 'Oh thank God it was just a dream'..when I looked up and saw the urn on the table where I placed it. At that point he looked at me. Then I woke up.
You won't be stuck in the anger. you may visit it for a while and then go beyond and then back again. That's ok. As time has went on I have found that letting myself "feel" the different things helps me understand that they are ok and a part of me now. Take care and be good to yourself.
Hugs
