Happy Father's Day to all our men folk. Someone posted the following on my FB and I want to share with you all:
If roses grow in heaven Lord, then pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Dad's arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him, and when he turns to smile, place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for awhile. Happy Father's Day, Dad. I Miss You!

We can all share this who have lost our hubbies and dads, too.

Great quote Franmaq. Remembering my Dad, who is gone a long time. He went through a terrible time when my Mother passed away, and ironically, my husband helped him through it. RIP Daddy.

As a Dad, that won't get his kiss from the wonderful person that made me a Dad, on this 'first' Fathers Day, I thank you for the Happy Fathers Day. Our boys (ha...young men) are thinking of me and my wife is in both of them, so I take some comfort in their eyes today. Today is just another pothole in this journey, but the support and caring here helps. So from this Father...thanks again.

Hope everyone has her own special way of remembering a father, or a husband who was a father. My husband always wanted to kids to water on father's day since he has a huge back yard. This morning, at 6:30am, it was drizzling, and I went outside to water some of his citrus trees. Low and behold, I lost my eyeglasses somewhere! My husband was notorious for misplacing his glasses. It feels as if this is his way to keep me thinking about him in his garden all day today, since I have yet to find them. I can feel my husband near me so much lately.

Yes, happy Father's day to all the DS men out there...it is such a difficult day for so many of us...I have been on the verge of tears all day so far. Our son and his girlfriend and my nearby family are coming here this afternoon for a balloon launch to Mike...we'll all write messages to him and send them off to heaven...then I'm going to cook his favorites for supper -lamb chops and crabcakes- and invite my mom and dad up to join me for father's day. Having that empty chair at my table will be tough...thanks for the beautiful memories Mike...

Speaking as one of the men, who are dads, "Thank you!!"

Today was the end of two weeks of firsts for me ,, Our first Granddaughers graduations from College..he would have loved to have been there I know,
Our first great-grandson's his buddies 3rd birthday first one he blew his own candles out alone..
3 month anniversary of his passing
His 62nd birthday first one with out him
Our son announcing he is going to be a father for the first time.. Ken so wanted to see our son happy with a family and now it's happening he isn't here to physically see it
and today Our First Father's day without him..
Our Daughter came over today and her and our 5year old Grandson washed Ken's care.. cleaned it inside and vacuumed it.. First time since Ken passed.. Ken washed his car once a week so we know he would be very pleased.. Our daughter sat with me on the deck after she was done with a coffee looked up to the Sky and said There you go Dad Happy Father's Day it was the only thing I could think to do for you.. No lasagna this year..
So we are done till the 1st of July our Daughters our first borns birthday ..then we are done till my birhday in Oct.. So many first in the first 3 months for us..
