I hear you, Jon. I didn't have any remaining cell phone voicemails, and was a little sad about that, but thought - well, that's one less thing to be sad about if I had them to listen to. But I still can't turn on his iPad or laptop and do some stuff with those electronics.

I'm with you on the short time, not yet 2 months for me either. But we've made it this far, good for us.

Yes that would be a shock to hear...I have no voicemails but sometimes I wish that i did....I do still hear his voice in my mind and hopefully always will...hugs to you...

Jon,,,,so many similar things have happened to me over timeI also went thru the phone messages and heard my Bill's voice and it broke my heart. You are newer to this journey and there will be many milestones you will have to cross..we all did and still are. We are here for you when you need usI am going on a year and I can't tell you how much this helped me because many people do not get this grief thing as they have not been thru it yet,,,pity them when they do..Try to keep strong and be kind to yourself...

If you want to save the voice in any way, record it or upload it to your media player, don't wait too long...Sprint for sure, (God Bless 'Em) deletes voicemails after I believe 60 days, and they're gone forever, irretrievable, and nobody there even wants to talk about it.

I found a note that Larry wrote in a jacket i don't often wear. It took my breath away and I was near tears for the rest of the day. Who knew a don't forget... note could have that effect. Hugs Patti

Jon, you might want to consider trying to save that message somehow. Someday you might want to listen to her voice if you have no other recordings. I guess I lived in a cave -- I never even considered the possibility of what losing my Juanita would do to me -- I didn't even realize that grief doesn't discriminate -- didn't even know the term "widower" before I stumble in here a broken man at about 2 1/2 months into this nightmare. I have found that while the initial shock of firsts sends me wailing, it lessens with the subsequent exposure and then fills my heart with the most wonderful memories. Part of the process I guess. Glad you found us, lots of good people here. Hurting, but kind, gentle, loving and compassionate. To be honest, I doubt that I could find a better group of friends anywhere in this world. I had not erased the last phone message from my husband before he came home from the hospital on hospice. I kept it for 5 years, making sure that I would listen to it every month or more often and saving it again. At first it brought tears. Then it brought comfort in hearing his voice. Treat it as a treasure and know that she's with you still. Sharon

I here you Brother, I also lost my Wife two months ago and I listen to her voice everyday on some videos I have on my phone. Stay strong.

My step daughter was checking her messages the day my wife passed. He voice was on there saying give me a call. I know exactly what you mean. Take care.
