I am so glad that you got those uglies off your back. I don't understand why step-kids have to cause problems. I have heard this so many times from the surviving spouses who have these step-children to deal with. UGH!! My step-daughter is only 8 years younger than myself and we are getting along great. She knows that I am all she has left and I vowed to help her move to my apartment complex where she can feel safe. She has mental illness and needs someone to be in her life. My step-son is a problem, but I think he realizes that I very much loved his dad and took good care of him. I was so much younger than my husband and I think that adds issues.
