Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
One of the women in my in-person support group is going through menopause. Her doctor wanted to withdraw her from hormones, but she really started suffering and got put back on them. Hopefully there's something that you can be given that will help keep you on a more even keel physically so you can endure both of these wrenching events at the same time.
Hugs, Gail
For me, grief is just that. Sadness, anxiety, fear, and lack of interest in the outside world or anything else for that matter.
I lost Richard 16 months now. I still have hot flashes, but also have a zero tolerance level, especially for trivial things or issues. I am also quick to defend myself, or have to stop myself from snapping someone's tongue back into their mouth. Cause from menopause or grief? Don't know.
Grief and stress does some strange things. I'm also currently getting pimples. A good look to accessorize my crows feet.
I found YAZ was a great solution for horrible PMS because it allows you to skip periods. You can cut them down to about 4 a year, and suffer that much less. You need to be monitored when taking them though because there are risks involved.
Not saying these solutions will work for everyone, but both helped me a lot!
