I always tell my daughter that I get up make the bed first so I can resist the urge to stay in it then I get dressed and put my shoes on. Once that is done I am usually okay until evening sets in. Hugs!!!

Good going on getting out of the house, it's not easy to push ourselves but it's worth the effort. I can't always control those thoughts that lead to sadness but as long as I keep trying to live my life at least there's a chance I'll make a new life. It may not be the way I had planned it but it can still have some meaning.

Good for you Sandi. It's hard to do, sometimes every day for several days in a row. How great that you see the good in your efforts. The more you do this, you will feel like you are putting distance between yourself and some of the pain. That's what happens to me, it doesn't take the grief away the pain away, but for me distance provides some perspective and that is how I felt like I was putting distance between me and my grief and pain.

Well I did it, I almost back out but I put on my big girl panties and made the trip. I didn't tell them I was coming I just showed up. It was kinda funny as the wife wasn't there when I got there so he texted her. When she showed up she didn't come over right away. When she did she said she hadn't gotten the text and she thought I was some kinda floozy flirting with her husband. LOL. We had a great visit.
It was worth the 5 1/2 hour drive just for the hugs.
