They were what you needed at the time - and how wonderful that they encouraged you.

A good and positive website for me is "Guideposts" - which is the name of a monthly magazine as well. People of all denominations send article/stories which are positive in nature, and tell of overcoming various disasters, situations, diseases etc. There is a special section entitled, "His Mysterious Ways," where experiences similar to yours are recounted. I love to read those - and this section is on the site as well as in the mag. I have subscribed to the magazine for around 40 years. Check it out for more "positive" vibes.

Just think about it, if this couple would have tried talking to you in town about God and your negative aura, would you have listened? Everything happens for a reason, and you were open to their concern about you. I hope you go and check out their church, it might be just what you need. You were truely blessed today.

Oh Boy, I can add to this Story. I know, that God, Works, in Lives, because He Worked, in Mine. A Few Weeks, after, My Husband Died, I needed, to get rid of His Truck. I took it to a Dealer, because, I did not want to deal with Strangers, ( Of course, they were not going to give Me, what it was Worth, but I decided, to do it anyway) I backed the Truck out of My Garage on the way to the Dealers and went back in the House, to get the Paperwork, when I came back out a Neighbor was Standing there, Looking at the Truck. He said, " Want to Sell this?"
He offered, Me More then the Dealer did and 15 Minutes later, the Deal was Done.
A Month after, that, I Decided, to get rid of some Lake Property, that We had Owned, for Years. I Listed it with a Realtor and He said, " Nothing is Selling right now, You may have to set on this for a Year or Two " " Okay " I said, That was on a Thursday, He called, Me the Following, Monday and said, " Sit, Down, Someone from another State, just Called and wants to buy Your Property and they will Pay Full Price"
Everytime, I have told these, Stories, to People, they just Shake Their Heads. They can't Believe it , but it's all True.

I have had things like that happen too. I just figure it's my angels helping me.

I also have seen God's hand working as He guilded me through losing Charles. First He opened a door for me to find a job 100 miles from home in a community that welcomed me with open arms. I would go home on weekends to see my husband I had a year to get use to living without Charles everyday. My first day at my new job was January 5, 2010 Charles died of a heart attack January 9, 2011.

When I was looking for a place to live in Commerce I called the church that I would be going to and found my garage apartment. The couple that I rent from go to church with me and we have become very good friends. I often joke that a person is never to old to be adopted and that now I have 4 new sisters, another mom and a brother. When Charles died they traveled through an ice storm to come to me and have been with me ever since. Even though I am alone I am not alone.

One day before Charles died I asked him one day if he worried about me up here because he knew I hated being alone and he said not at all, he knew Chris and Mike were there and that I really was not alone.

God has provided for me more than I can say and even though I miss our home and everything about our life, He gave me a new life before closing the door to the old one. I really am blessed and needed to be reminded how much, thank you for your posting.

We had some mountain property (600 miles away) that we put up for sale when my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Nothing was selling and on top of that, everyone had told us we were fools for buying wooded property on a mountain. We got a buyer and the closing (600 miles away!) was held on the day and hour my husband died. We were so worried I would get stuck with the property. However, we doubled our money that we had invested in it. I love to tell the naysayers that it was the best financial investment we ever made besides our house. God was so good to take that burden off my back and to give me cash as well.

God does indeed provide what we need when we need it. I am always amazed at how God comes through when I least expect it. Why I am amazed, I'm not sure, but I'm glad He met you where you were and provided encouragement. Hugs.

Yes I think God sent them your way. And you have to admit it is just what you needed. Would you have been open any place else to talk to a stranger for an hour about God or your negative attitude on life? I think not. It was God letting you know he is here for you!
