I am a better person for having loved. He made me see how strong i was. But if it would mean he never would of suffered? I would of rather it not happened. He suffered bad for 19 months after his car accident. He wasent just dying from his injurys he was severely injured we never told him he was dying i dont know if he knew he never said he did....... But he used to beg me to just let him die

Excellent song, and so very true. I wouldn't give up my 25 years with Sharry to save me from the pain of losing her. We were blessed with the love of our spouses, now the agony of loss, and later, the indescribable joy of reunion. Sure seems like the pain of loss part goes on way too long. My husband shared a story with me that I thought fits this topic. He was sent away to school for a while and of course he missed his family. His parents did visit and send him care packages but it wasn't the same. While on a phone call to his mom he finally broke down and cried. He wanted to come home. He felt so bad being away from them all. His mom told him it was ok to feel bad because that just showed how much he loved and valued his family. It made him feel better and it helps me now too as the same applies in grief. We wouldn't be so sad if we hadn't had the love. I don't regret the dance, I just wish it hadn't ended so early. Liz

I had that song played at my husbands funeral. He requested that to be played years ago...

Thank you. I am grateful for our 42 years together and in spite of the grief, I don't regret a single moment of the dance.

My Morey's decline was very gradual. Slowly, I was losing him, slowly, ever so slowly until his body was here but his mind and spirit were gone. Only in the last week of his life did he feel at ease and peaceful. No more agitating nightmares and pain.

Heart wrenching and heartbreaking to watch. What was the lesson, why was such a wonderful man tortured so?

So, if someone asks me about the journey......NO THANK YOU, no more soup sir! If I had to do this life over again knowing what I know....NO THANK YOU! Would I want to know and love Morey......YES, PLEASE! But, only for the first 25 years......the rest, NO THANK YOU!

With God's grace, I accept everything in my life, including the never ending pain of losing my husband. I appreciate every day and look upon it as a gift.
