Christine
I lost mine close to a year ago now, back when my hubby was strong and healthy. Just today I saw a girl in the grocery wearing one just like it. I told her it was pretty and she told me where she got it. But maybe this means I'll find mine soon too?
He was on pain meds for the cancer. We took a ride. I didn't discover that his plate was missing until 2 days later, and he couldn't remember what he did with it.
Once he passed, I was very upset that he didn't have his plate. The mortician told me that where he was now, he didn't need it.
It still bothers me and always will.
Debbie, in answer to your comments, you brought a funny memory to my mind. I kept trying to take him to the podiatrist - he'd had an ingrown toenail and insisted that he had another one, although it didn't appear to be. But he had pain there and I wanted it looked at so he'd be comfortable somewhere.
He also broke a tooth a month or so before he died - I kept encouraging him to call the dentist and I would take him, and I even said I would call (we had different dentists), but he kept pushing it aside.
He also got his pneumonia shot and his H1N1 shot but never got the shingles vaccination, although I kept trying to schedule one for him with hospice, doctor, walk-in clinic, and hospital.
I have to remind myself that I can stop worrying about all these things, but it does cross my mind - "He never got his broken tooth fixed", etc - even though I know it doesn't matter any more.
Hugs, Gail
