Widows & Widowers Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
Sorry you had to join our awful club...
All of this takes time and maybe some effort or at least direction.
What I mean by effort is it seems to me, you have to find your way through the horrible pain and sorry by connecting with what helps you...For some people it is religious, others keeping busy, work for some, family for others, for many, finding inspiration or messages in what we experience to feel the lost one is still connected.
So my unsolicited advice is;
Look for your way forward, for what gives you hope for a softening of the pain. Use the adapting mechanism that works best for you to help you move forward, You need time to let the intense feelings work themselves through.
A widowed group helped me a lot before COVID and we have continued to get together and even helped one of our group have a garage sale to prepare for her to sell her house. I think it helped since we can all communicate in an empathetic way no one else can.
Take care and best wishes,
Joe
