My son and his wife came down from Chicago early this morning..1:30am they arrived. They worked yesterday, Tuesday, it's an 8 hr drive, so braved the roads and forecasted bad weather to visit.
I really wasn't excited about their visit. I'm into being alone and crying any time I want all day every day. Joy of rural living, no neighbors and crappy weather.
But today is the first day I haven't started the day in bed and crying. I'm up, it's 7:30, they're still in bed. And I don't feel as bad as the other mornings. Actually looking forward to the day.
They can only stay until friday morning, Friday afternoon a friend is coming over to work her dogs with mine for a trial on saturday, and it will be in the 50's. Sat. will be a great day outside running bird dogs in Field Trials. Sunday my other son is home (lives about 1/4 mi away) and my grandson usually comes over to help with chores.. All next week the weather looks to be in the 50's or 60's!
I am really tired of this grieving process. Each day feeling bad, eyes hurt, chest hurts, always thinking sad thoughts. I wish I could fast forward my life to a better, happier time. Maybe this will be the start, at least each hour that I don't feel bad is a blessing.

Was worried about their drive down but the weather stayed warm, bad out now, ice came first now snow..Glad I have plenty of food and lots to talk about..It will be a good day! I need a good day!

Soon you'll be setting an example for the rest of us. I bet you're feeling good and looking forward to the next couple of days. That's great and is putting a smile on my face for you!
Have a really nice visit with your children, enjoy each other and don't forget to let them tell you some stories and allow them to cry right along with you.
The old adage that "misery loves company" is never more true then when it comes to grieving with others who totally GET IT!!!
