I am glad that you received reassurance and some sense of resolution from the EMT's report. I'm sure it was extremely hard to read. I think you have been incredibly courageous in the way you have handled yourself. Blessings to you as you seek to find strength in your faith, friends, and family. Rob would be proud of his wife! TJ
I hope the report gave you the reassurance you were looking for. Like you, I was not with my husband when he had his heart attack, and I worried that he was alone and scared. I still have guilt over the fact that I was not with him, but I am trying to let it go because I know Brian would not want me to feel that way.I'm sure Rob would not want you to dwell on the fact that you were not with him. I know that is easier said than done, but we have to try. Take care.
Hugs,
Susan
The tears flowed reading your comment about how Rob would be proud of his wife .. tears with a smile and warm heart. Bless you and thank you so very much for saying this; I really needed to hear that!

Severe MI's just compromise cardiac output so much.
What's worse, is that women have as many of these types of these things as men. Nobody is immune.
I so sorry that you were not able to be there. That adds to you grief. Life as I said is so unfair. As I cardiac nurse at a hospital I have been apart of my arrests. I know that every one tried to bring that person back . No one want the patient to have a bad outcome. I also share you pain because my husband code- arrest at a major university hospital. I have review the case many time what could I have done I always ask. I know medically every drug was give at the right time. (I have a special training in cardiac arrest called ACLS) it was done according to the book .
The out come he was on ventilator and died 3 days later.
I know that his out come could not been change. Well the other day I was reminded a simple pray - I even keep it on my dresser.
You see I had a alcoholic 1st husband that I tried so hard to change thing saying Maybe he stop drinking if I did x y or z. I took him to every councilor group I could find someone could change it.
I went to Alaon to found how I could have him stop drinking they gave me a simple pray
Serenity Prayer.
God, grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom I to know the difference.
My 1st husband I did divorce him he never change- right now he is losing him home because of drinking
I know we all would give our right arm to change our loves one death. I so wish I had the magic to change my love from cardiac arrest. I took it hard - I'm a cardiac nurse I have saved many
people My own husband I should have been able to save. All I can says as I review in my mind the arrest is ask God to help me to accept the things I can not
You have my support it this hard journey

God Bless
