I'm so thankful to have found this group. Its been 4 months since my husband died and sometimes I don't feel like I'm going to survive this. I know in my heart God is helping me to go on but sometimes its unbearable. My husband and I were together for almost 38 years and I don't know how to live without him. We met when I was just 17 years old and he has been my world. Over the years we had our children and grand children and life was good. In January 2013 he was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. His faith was so strong and he was an inspiration to all who met him. He went through months of chemo and radiation and by the end of the year the cancer was gone. Within a few months it had came back. It was harder to fight the next round. 2014 he went through chemo again and was told they couldn't cure him but only slow it down. He grew tired-fought hard but his life ended way too soon. I lost the love of my life. How do you get over this? I'm feeling so many emotions and sometimes feel like I'm going crazy. This just doesn't seem real that he's never coming back. I miss him so much!

Like you, Larry & I were married 38yrs (however we didn't have any children) .. I lost him May 2014, but seems just like yesterday. He also went through 3 different cancers until his poor immune system finally gave out. Of course I'm thankful that he is not in any more pain, but I miss him every moment of every day. You don't get over it, you just manage the loss . Your emotions will very from day to day. I say just cry when you need too.
C.S. Lewis wrote the following.
Grief and pain are the price we humans have to pay for the love
and total commitment we have for another person.
The more we love, the more we are hurt when we lose the object
of our love, But if we are honest with ourselves,
Would we have it any other way.....
