loveddogs
As my "handle" says, my husband and I love dogs. He died of complications of diabetes and we had a "pharmacy" in our home. After sorting through and discarding anything I knew no one could use, my son and I just made a trip to our local Humane Society. Oh my gosh the things we donated. All sorts of cleansers, bandaging, hospital gowns, huge heating pad, bed pads, dressings, syringes and on and on. I knew that they couldn't be used on another human, but now that they have an on staff Vet, maybe they are good enough for animals. I still have three out door dog houses I want to clean up and donate. My dogs are now indoor dogs. And we visited the graves of three of our huskies at the pet cemetary there that started it all. (the rest are buryed here at home) got too expensive. I feel good about this. Pets were and are such a big part of our lives. In fact a month or so before my dear husband passed he had talked about getting another puppy. A miniature daschund. I miss my Winnie so badly. She was my back warmer. ha ha. But can't seem to find one. The silver lining is less "medical" crap in my house. My husband also collected books on different dog breeds. So someday, when I am ready I will donate these books to the Humane Society too. For their library, or to include with adopting a new pet. I think he would be happy with me today. Miss him so. Hugs and Love to all, Michele

Today (August 8) is INternational Cat Day. Don't click away! International DOG day is August 26! Both were created to raise aweareness and funds for the well-being of critters. We have many such dayts, to the pint that every day is like an old Catholic saints' day calendar: Take your pick!I'm home, obvs, and still ill. Left calf and foot not great after a tangle-fall, but i'll live. Just can't...

I'nm exhausted. This doxycycline thing has ripped me apart and I'm eating crackers and water. I can't take (anything) or eat (anything) except saltines and toast and maybe unbuttered watery mashed potatoes. Are we sure the cure isn't worse than the possible disease?!?!And a week to go. ***Fun cures that WERE worse than the disease:ARsenic. Popular against STDs, which just compounded misery...

Well, neither one got what they wanted. I made sure nothing of my wife's was sold (or returned). I gave the stuff away to her close friends, people in need or those that never had nice things. That is what my Juani would have wanted. Death has a strange way of bringing out the worst in some. For a lot of reasons, neither the daughter or the sister are a part of my life now. I've forgiven them, I continue to love them, and I pray for them. But they are no longer a part of my life. Couldn't handle their drama.
We had a huge amount of Medical supplies and equipment.
I had 5 cases of Ensure extra, which was dated until 2017....
I was advised to throw it out.....BUT I didn't....everything usable went to People who needed it.
As for Dogs....At one time we had 7 beautiful dogs...All Cavalier King
Charles Spaniels..of every colour .....Our family are dog lovers too!!!
I actually Crave to have a dog now....But circumstances don't permit...
Good For You Michele ...I told you, "You are a Trooper!"
