My heart goes out to both of you. My husband passed away suddenly on 4/26/17, so I am still fresh to this unbearable nightmare. Please know you are not alone. Hug! Betty

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my husband 9/30/15 after almost 30 years of marriage. It is something you just get through day by day, sometimes hour by hour. Grief and bereavement groups can help. Some people get individual counseling. It is a rollercoaster of emotions and you need to try to take care of yourself as best you can. Try to eat, drink water and be very kind to yourself. This is a very good place to come and share your thoughts and emotions. It helped me tremendously to know that others had survived this loss. I was not sure I could in the beginning. Just deal with now as much as possible. I wish you peace.

LNB and Bilcur, how did you lose your partners, if you want to talk about it? A journal, i.e. writing and writing helped me early on. And of course crying out to God...Playing music loud also helped me when I felt so powerless over what happened. I also hardly went home ( I have no kids). I was pretty much like a nomad trying to sort it out/cope with it in my mind: the guilt, the longing, the shock, the ignorance.

It going to be tough the coming days, weeks or months ahead. Arm yourself with lots of water and rest. Guard your thoughts from regret and what ifs. Dont make any major decisions yet, wait until the numbness and the shock wears off. Dont think about the future, just focus on the present, on whats in front of you. Just take it one day at a time.... you're going to be ok...

I didn't mention often calling out, talking to my husband, whether God allowed him to hear me or not.

I lost my husband suddenly on May 30th this year so it has been almost 3 weeks so I understand what you are going through. Some hours I am ok but other times I'm not. I can be doing fine and then, like the oncoming tide, grief just washes over me and I think I can't bear it. My heart goes out to you. I believe that we both can get through this even though it is hard to picture that now.

I lost my husband suddenly on March 28th. It is getting a little bit easier but not much. My husband was everything to me. He was my sole mate and my best friend. They say it gets easier, and some days it is. I have gotten by so far because I'm a very spiritual person and I believe he is still with me I just can't see him. I guess you have to do whatever it takes to get by. It certainly is the most difficult thing I have ever been through.

I lost my husband June the 9th as well. What has helped me is setting aside time to write my feelings down and take it day by day.

You will make it. It's absolutely the worst thing in the world, but you will get through it. Surround yourself with loving people and get as much rest as you can. I lost my husband suddenly in a car crash last September and I didn't think I'd survive, but I did.

Hi, I know how you feel, I lost my husband almost 2 years now, there are good days, bad days, mad sometimes because I think what could I have done differently. First, DO NOT DO ANYTHING PERMANENT, meaning move. It is funny how some want to hurry and move, for whatever reason. It takes time to grieve, not weeks not months, there is no set time, but in my case, I am just now coming out of it, feeling like a whole person again. I went to Grief classes at church, I got a workbook, and it really helped, I also started a diary right away, everyday I write down what I did, how I felt, I also write a letter to my departed husband once in awhile in there as well. I read scriptures every morning, sometimes at night, I watch Les Feldick on tv he has bible study a few times a week. I watch Charles Stanley he has church on Saturday and Sunday. I cried a lot at first, got little sleep, clean house though, it seems really hard and when it does I found that when I reached out to help someone else, I felt a little better. It is the hardest thing I have ever done losing someone I cared about, my partner, my best friend, but he is gone, it was his time, now I need to make the best of my time. Be positive, be busy, help others, volunteer, anything, keep busy, one day at a time. We slip, yes, but, we get back up, dust ourselves off and begin again, knowing we had a great love once, and now we must go on. It will get easier, we never forget, we always remember, and we will always love them, one day we meet again. good luck, don't give up. You can do this.
