some small thing happened this morning that normally would have made me say to Ron "do you remember ...". It then dawned on me there is no one to have "our" memories with, it's just me now. Those memories don't mean anything to anyone but me. In some ways it feels as if they never happened. It is a very odd feeling, one I don't like but I think one I think more and more it is sinking in that my future is mine alone now.

Today I feel grateful. Grateful for my dog Blue (Blue Jean Baby Queen, Prettiest girl I've ever seen). Grateful I'm still kickin'. Grateful I'm finally taking responsibility for my health. Grateful I own my home. Grateful for good friends and neighbors who watch over me. Grateful to God for His everlasting love and patience with me. Grateful I survived the 10 years since my wife of 30 years...

Positive thoughts to you...A.
Peace, Tim

I feel sometimes like I am being erased just as much as he is being erased. Or like our 30 years happened in a dream, especially since I have so little left of "our" time together.
I do sometimes feel like Amy though - that some of those memories are mine-all-mine and I can be as selfish as I want about them, if that makes any sense.
Sometimes looking through photos helps me with some of it, and I did journal some things as well. I keep thinking it's time to write my memoirs, too, so my boys will have something of me and of us when I am gone.

It is the stark reality of being only one-half left, of the Whole, which I was with my husband.
42 years of life with someone.. does not die when they do.
xO,
Barbara.
Our kids have no idea what we did, except for some of it that we shared with them.
Our futures are truly OURS alone now. Some memories are so distant it seems they happened to someone else and others are still fresh.
They mean NOTHING to anyone but me now!!!!
You know what? I'm so glad that the wonderful memories outweigh the bad one's!!!

Beautiful memories of travel and doing things together
that hit me with pleasant thoughts and pain at the same
time. Inside jokes about people, places and things and
no one else would understand and memories of how
we could make each other laugh but doing silly things
we wouldn't do in front of other people.
We spent 31 years together. We moved through a lot
of valleys and over many mounts together. We created
thousands of memories together. I have been writing
in a journal ( now on my second one ) about anything
and everything I can remember.
But, at times, I pause and then I have this very odd
feeling that it was all a fantastic dream. That conflicts
with my experiences on some mornings when I awake
and briefly think ( only for a few seconds ) that her
death six months ago was only a nightmare.
It is also a challenge to try to share your memories with
other people ( be it family or friends ). They were not
there and cannot touch it or feel it. So, many of the
memories I shall just keep to myself ( and my journals ).
Blessings to all -
