For those of you that have gone for therapy or group support how did it help you? Two of my kids have been pushing me to go. The thought of attending a support group with a bunch of strangers frightens me. The last thing I want to do is cry in a room full of strangers. I cry enough at the drop of a hat now. What can anyone tell me that I already don't know. He's coming back, no I know that's not true. That this will take time? I know that too. That some day some one will love me the way he did? I doubt it. He was always on my mind. And I know I was always on his. What tools do they have that I don't already know of? That aren't in all the books I've read? Or is it just the time that will heal me? Please don't think for a moment that I don't believe in therapy. My daughter is a therapist. I guess what I am asking is does it really help? I haven't ruled it out. But my son acts as if my going is going to be some instant cure. I know it won't be. I can't get through the loss of the man I love and spent forty years with in an instant.
