I sent a e mail to my children, grandchildren and daughter in-law this questions:
WHAT WAS THE BEST CHRISTMAS GIFT, AS A CHILD OR AS AN ADULT, YOU REMEMBER GETTING?
i shared that I remember getting a bike. I was so happy.
I really needed to start the month of December on a positive note.

I shared my best gift as a child, but as an adult my best gift was that God gave me a second chance at happiness. We had both had difficult marriages and was scarred to try again. We call off our engagement two times because we were marrying again and wanted it to last. He was not only my true love, he was a Father to my four children, a grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always there when they needed him. He walked my daughters down the aisle and was there when all the grand and great-grands were born. He is my gift that keeps on giving.

The best childhood gift was a Green Bay Packer football helmet. We had a huge neighborhood group of kids, and we played tackle football until the city ice rink was ready for hockey. My Dad, and some of the other kid's Dads would cut off a couple of pucks from the bottom of the trunk of the Christmas trees, and they would last most of the winter. Loved that helmet, and those care free Christmases past.

Sharry gave me so many great gifts, that it is hard to pick one, but I would have to say the suede Green Bay Packer dress jacket, that I will proudly wear the rest of my life.

Two great gifts from two very special times. How did they go so quickly? Thanks for a great post, and the warm memories it brought.

As a child we grew up very poor. One Christmas I had a box of chocolate turtles under the tree(we never could afford treats). I was so so excited. The other memory although sad is magical at the same time. My wife was rushed to a palliative care unit Christmas morning 2013 in respiratory distress. By the evening they had her stabilized and she told me I havent been this comfortable in 6 months. We sat out on a balcony and looked at the Christmas lights over the city while I stroked her hair and back. That moment will be kept close to my heart forever.

As a child doll. As an adult my husband and I would buy one gift to share in common. We love paintings. So I have a few we choose out together.
Most memorable about Christmas is watching the joy my kids get when they open their Christmas gift.
