It has only been seven weeks today and I still don't think of myself as a widow, I guess I just don't want to yet. Take care.

As long as I carry him in my heart, I will never be a widow....I did have a moment the first year when I switch to widow on FB and had such a strong reaction to this that within minutes it was being changed back. Yes I am handling my grieve, yes I am moving forward but no I won't willingly take on the the role of widow .

The work "widow" sorta sucks.

I changed mine to widow a few weeks ago...and now I'm getting 'friend requests' from scam artists...they almost always use 2 first names, and their grammar is really bad...just a head's up..

I had a hard time with the word widow. I felt married for a long time. I eventually got to the point of saying that I was married, but my husband died. Even after acknowledging of widow on forms I didn't believe it.

I left all of the household stuff in my husband's name, left my FB status as married, and still use Mrs. on everything I can. There are too many strange people out there to give up too much information. I think its a personal choice. Sometimes little things like that help the healing process. Hugs

I still wear my weddings rings but now I can say "I am a Widow"
I still don't like that word though.

I was driving in my car the week after Morey passed, with my daughter and I said, "Oh! My! I'm a Widow!" She said, "you're not Widow Mommy you're big!"

We both laughed, a laugh that we both so desperately needed!!!

I also hate the word. I still have "Married to Shane" on my FB. I will forever be married to him. You are so much stronger than I am.

i hate that i am a widow, but i like that there is a word other than single. for me, if i consider myself
married i know i will not move forward, but i don't see myself as single. I am a widow, proud of my life with my husband and the many lessons he both taught me and that we learned together.

I didn't change mine, too many crazies to deal with.

I hate the word "widow" and try not to use it. In my heart, I am still married, still wear my ring and always will.

I don't think I'll be able to change my Facebook status from married to widow. I waited 14 years for Joe to be ready to marry me. After only officially being his wife for a little over 3 years I think I'll be content to remain that forever.
