from a queen to twin - was hard but was the right thing to do. The room seems bigger and more me now. Had the hardest time sleeping last night though, but the sleep I did have was actually sounder than it's been in awhile so I guess it was the right decision. Score one for moving forward. Today was hard though, first b.day since he has been gone, *;30 this morning received a happy b.day text from my husband's brother - I thought that was so sweet, started my day off on a less lonley note and a good friend drove about 30 miles to take me out to dinner after work. Helped alot. Also, knowing you all were here, as always helps as well.

I never changed the size of my bed. I stayed with the queen and now I'm enjoying all the room to myself.
The firsts are always hard.

Happy birthday! I haven't changed my bed size. For several years due to my husbands dialysis I ended up on the couch to keep from tangling in his tubing. Sometimes I sleep in the bed, sometimes on the couch. Just depends often where I am when I finally cry myself to sleep. I did finally wash the sheets, but can't wash his pillows. I love the smell of him. So happy to hear you heard from his brother and the good friend took you to dinner. It is so important to feel included. And I am with you, the people here are wonderful, hugs to all , Michele

Have a good birthday xoxo . Glad that you had caring people remember it and not be afraid to let you now. I have kept the queen size bed. I used to be all over it and he would always say that he had 1/4 of the bed and I had the rest. I think that's because I would seek him out even in my sleep. Now I sleep in 1/4 of it with pillows filling the other side...

Happy (almost belated) Birthday! Sounds like you managed quite well today. Good for you!! And so happy you found a new bed that works quite well for you in this new norm! We do whatever it takes . . . I still have my King bed . . but it is now filled with my invited furry babies. They take up so much room, I could almost double my King into a wall to wall bed. Happy birthday! I changed my bed from a king to a queen. My furry son sleeps on his own blanket at the foot of the other side. Then he goes to the guest room after a bit. Glad you were thought of by family and friend. Widowhood is such a lonely place.

Happy Birthday! Glad it was a good day for you and your new bed is working out.
I still have our same bed...I like remembering him in it.
My first birthday without my husband is coming up. It will be sad because he always took me to a really nice place for dinner. Luckily, my daughter is nearby. I told her a fancy restaurant I wanted to go to, and she invited some close friends to join us. She will also cook me a dinner at her house a few days later so the grandkids can be included. Im so glad I moved back closer to family.

Happy Birthday! Glad it was good. I can't change the size of my bed, i sleep on a king, I have 3 indoor dogs that have gladly taken Bob's spot! They sleep on top of the covers, and are a great comfort to me!

Happy B-Day!, I still have our King bed but I have giant dogs that either take turns in it or both them and the kitty will all snuggle in. It is ten years old and we had talked about replacing it for a couple of years now but would have to get another King for the kids. ~Pete

I still have the same bed size here, and I still sleep on the same side of the bed... On his side, I have a teddy near he gave me...
