It takes time...I know it feels like you will never will ever feel normal again and you never will in the same way just different but still good :) Hugs

November 30 I just realized was the day I returned to the hospital I'd transported my husband to the night before. (then went to work that night). As I entered the room he was saying "Jesus, help me." When he saw me he said "come here" and we had the longest best hug that I now repeatedly remember for my sake. We just held onto eachother. He died in a different hosp. on Jan. 30.

Sadwidow, You can do many stretching exercises on the floor that aren't overtaxing. Just exert yourself at your own pace. Also kicks in the doorway are good just don't hit your foot on frame! like I've done more than once.. Exercising creates endorphins to lift your mood. I know this and therefore have been slacking on doing mine. It also was too hard to start them for me in the beginning of my loss. But I'm getting back into them...

Your not alone. It's been three years since I lost my husband. Talking helps. Even though I talk to people it doesn't seem to help. That's why I joined to talk to people I can relate too

About a month after my husband died, I traveled out of state to see my grandchildren. While at the airport I started talking to another passenger who happened to be a widow of three years. She told me that for the first three months or so, you are cushioned by a sense of shock and unreality (and this is true even if the death was expected). After the three months, she said, that sense of shock wears off and reality hits you hard.

I have been a widow for eight months now and I have found that to be true. So yes, it really does get worse before it gets better. Eventually, though, it gets better..............at least for most people. I found that after four months it seemed worse but now, at eight months, it seems like it is getting better. I still have bad days, though.
