This community is dedicated to those who have lost a husband, wife, or partner. Anything is open for discussion here, with the hope that we can focus on grief, bereavement, life after loss, and continuing on after a great loss.
I don't know anyone who has lost a spouse who experienced heart problems but I do know three women who, after their spouses died from cancer, all ended up in Alzheimer's facilities within a year or so. That made me very aware of how difficult caregiving is and the permanent trauma that can be inflicted on people as a result. I find it sad that we as a people do not have better options for people who are dying. It seems wrong that caring for someone at times costs another their life as well.

Howie has been gone almost 16 months. On the 28th I have an appointment out of town to see a cardiologist as something showed up on a stress test and my GP said something about a 25% possibility of Hear Disease. I`m 49 years old. I wanted to reply that of course there is a 25% possibility of Heart Disease. It`s that section of my heart left with scar tissue from losing him...
