I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge and a porch to sit on to watch leaves fall.

I am thankful for my grief, because it means I have loved and been loved. I am thankful for my 2 wonderful children, whose love has helped sustain me through my darkest days. I am thankful for the support of friends and family. I am thankful for my home and land that is serene and peaceful. I miss my husband every day, but I am thankful.....

I am thankful for the twelve wonderful years that I had with my husband. I am thankful for the family that raised me to become a strong caring person. I am thankful for the new love I have found. Mostly I am thankful that some higher power gave me the strength to get through darkest period of my life and emerge a better person for it. (Still far from perfect!) I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving! But if you don't; please be kind to yourself, remember it is OK and normal not to enjoy these holidays when you are grieving. Just get through it and grab the enjoyment if you can.

I've had a very hard time trying to figure out what to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Besides Rich's passing, this wasn't exactly a banner year in other areas either (doesn't that sound awful). Anyway after some soul searching - it finally came to me - like you - I am thankful for my loving family and friends who have supported and watched over me during the last six months. I love them all and very thankful they are in my life! Wishing everyone here a happy and blessed thanksgiving. Hopefully, you will be surrounded by the people you love.

I am thankful for all of you here on DS and that I found this site. It has helped me so much with this grieving process we are all going through. I am thankful for 5 of the most awesome kids in the world.
I am thankful for my dad because he is my rock.
I am thankful that I am financially secure.
I am thankful for the sweet memories of a past life that I will forever hold close.

I am grateful that I have grown closer to the Lord since the loss of my husband. I am grateful that we had a second chance at happiness (second marriage for both of us), for 36 years. I am grateful that he has a brand new body free for chemo and radiation and so much medication. I am grateful for my children, especially my daughters who live close by, always there for me, whatever I need. I am grateful for a a wonderful support group at a church and I am grateful for Daily Strength and all of you who have comforted me in my grief, especially in the early a.m. when I couldn't sleep. I continued keep all of us in prayer as we strived for a "new normal."

I too am a bit late in posting BUT I am so thankful for the 54 years I shared with my husband , for the wonderful supportive family I have even though there are times and we have our moments but we are always there for each other. I am most thankful for a loving Heavenly Father who is always watching over us and even when I feel alone I know he is right there. I know it was his guidance that lead me to find DS and I am thankful for the support of each one when reading your posts.
