We had some heavy winds, lost power for most of one night, than a friend ~1 hrs away passed out (he has been helping on my place friend) hit a guard rail I was only neighbor home so I drove to hospital they put him in. Got his stuff (car totalled went through guard rail good) He is ok but they think he has some heart problems they are checking on. I got his dog over to his girlfriends, closed up his house ...
BUT I think getting laid off might be a good thing except the 24 hrs kept $$ coming helped out. My DIL said I need to go get my job skills up to par (believe it or not I was a customer service rep for Tree Top juice at one time worn three piece business suits traveled all over midwest meeting with brokers and regional sales representatives) than went back to college got a Range Mgmt degree and became a Range Mgr for forest service, BLM and BIA for yrs. NOW I am going to try and get my office skills up (lots of data entry experience) as like DIL said when I move I will be able to get something better part time.
SO once holidays are over I am going to work one more week than start looking for somewhere that will help me upgrade those office skills. SO I am sure hoping that will be productive but the town I live in just does not have much in job market.....SO It is scary...
Than a neighbor came over, he is going to fix duct work up for ~$30 i just need to buy the 16' piece of duct. And he can put up the paper that goes on the big shop (Roger died before we got siding on it) that will protect it from the winter moisture (he said still under $100) and he can go under house hook up the wiring for shop into electrical stuff from house NOW we are just close to $100. Last estimate was $600 for duct work, $300 for wiring, and several hundred for shop stuff.....And than he looks at my bathroom that cost me $2000 and say "WHY did you not call me, I would have probably saved you $1000. What could I say "ok, where was someone guiding me?????
I am also taking advice of others here I am putting some things I do not need up for sale: flat bed trailer, just sold a saddle, have my husbands pontton float tube for sale, sold old refrig, need to sell good used washer and a garage full of well not sure of all of it...SO after labor day I am gonna work on selling all of the whateverss.....
I am trying to keep upbeat.....oh gosh sometimes it is so hard.....

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...

I KNEW you are a STRONG lady, and would find a way. I'm sure with your brush up on your skills, you'll be back in those three piece suits in no time, and the garage whatevers will buy those suits!!!

Yup, the job market is a scary thing. I will be waiting until after I move. So, November I will beging that journey, as well.
I have no idea what is out there now. I definitely need to get some new skills.
I was a Account Rep (cosmetics/beauty care) for Procter & Gamble. Owned antique store, and managed retail stores. But retail jobs, are down now..so we'll see. I am confident there is "something" out there for all of us...LoL, just wonder what "it" is???
