Because I live in the UK, and can't join you wonderful people at your meet up, I decided to join a local young widows group based throughout the UK. I had never even spoken to the people I met today, apart from the leader, so was feeling a bit apprehensive, and I've not had a good few days dealing with my grievance with my work situation. I woke up today though and just thought GO FOR IT, so we did. When my son and I got to the restaurant, we thought it had been cancelled as there was no booking for them. So we just sat down to eat for the two of us; the manager of the restaurant came over and said there was a group of people in, whom could be who I was looking for. I went over and introduced myself, and sure enough it was them. So we joined them, there were other kids there, Thom had a good time in the play area, and we all sat and had a meal together! How bazaar that you can sit and eat with people that you've just met, but they ALL understand, and it was great. I feel so proud, of just going and meeting them, and we've arranged to go out next week with the kids to the local Chill Zone ( ski fun centre).
My advice to anyone who's feeling apprehensive about meeting a local group, or going to Vegas, is just go for it, you've nothing to lose; and the feeling you will get from it, pushing yourself out there will make you and your loved one proud :)
