My husband, Norb, and I traveled to Mexico for thirty years. It was our favorite place on earth.
I was invited to a wedding in Mexico the end of January, and I decided to go. I believe Norb would have wanted me to go and enjoy myself.

I went for two weeks, and I'm so glad I did. I left the cold and snow and arrived in Cancun to sunshine and blue skies and warmth.

The sun, the beach, the beautiful weather made me feel so much better.
Plus I got to see lots of friends and collect a lot of hugs.

I went to the church that Norb and I always attended. There was no service at the time, so I just sat in a pew and cried and cried.
Yes, there were times the good memories came flooding back, and I missed him terribly, so I'd cry, and then I'd move on.
It was healing to be back at the places we loved.

I returned home on Monday, which was the 7 month anniversary since he passed.
For all of you early in your grief, please know you will go on.
There were a lot of days that I seriously wondered how I could get out of bed and survive. Our lives are different now, but we have to go on.
