I was looking for my wifes birth certificate for the beaurocrats, and came across her baby pictures. This sent me for a major drop, which affected me in degree similar to the day she died. It was a totally crushing experience rendering my heart, mind, and soul into a bowl of jelly. I'm right back where I started. This is a nightmare.

I get that way too sometimes when going through hubby's pictures. There's some silly videos we made and I still can't watch/listen to those even though it's been 27 months since he's been gone :( It's rough sometimes but you'll get through it! One day at a time! Big hugs!

I have a message on my answering machine my husband left about two months prior to his death. I won't delete it, though I know it by heart, but can't bear to listen to it either. That last words he says on it are "love you". How I long to have him put his arms around me again and say those words. I just keep telling myself..."I will survive!" Hugs!

This happened to me when I found some pictures of my husband. I also found some poems he had written for me that I had forgotten about. Things like this make me happy but at the same time makes me feel like someone shot a taser into my heart. I've learned that, for me anyway, it's easier to go through it than run from it. However I have to know my limits. I still have things saved on my phone like songs he sang for me or the first voicemail he ever left when we first started dating that I have not been able to listen to yet and that's ok. This is a long, horrible journey that we've been forced to travel. But at least we have this site and the people on here who understand and actually care.
