I have been reading posts here for awhile. I lost my husband on 11/23/15. He had a very long hard battle with cancer and we thought we had it on the run. Turns out, Cancer won AGAIN! I have been doing my very best to cope with loosing him. We would have been married 18 years on 12/10/15. I managed with that and even made it OK with Christmas and New Year. I live in the midwest and it has been mostly cold and nasty since he passed. Today was a gorgeous day. Sunny and 65 degrees out. I forced myself to leave the house (I really haven't much desire to leave) My Jim was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. I can vividly remember him get real "itchy" on days like this. and soon I would hear the bike start up and away he would go. May only be gone a half hour or so, but he would definitely get in a little ride as soon as he possibly could. Today, there were so many people out on bikes enjoying the day. I could not do anything but cry. I have had lots of days where I just cry and cry. But today was really bad, I was angry because I know how he looked forward to that first ride of the season. Angry because he wasn't here to take that ride today. Angry that he will NEVER have another ride. I have told myself since his passing, that he was no longer in pain and could mostly console myself with that. I miss him terribly. I have been hurting since he had to leave, but at least he has not been hurting. He was in so much pain and hurt all the time and I know he only fought so long and hard because of me/ But I am having a real hard time consoling myself that he missed out on his first bide ride of the season. Do you think there are motorcycles in Heaven...?

But ultimately, we believe that God is the magician here...and if there are no motorcycles in Heaven, then that's only because God's got something that is even cooler than motorcycles, if you can imagine that.
That possibility is presented in neurosurgeon Eben Alexander's description of a Near Death Experience he had in 2008: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbkgj5J91hE
So try to find a smile when the weather is nice remembering how much joy he found on his motorcycle.

Every year hundreds of motorcycles pass by my house, as it is a scenic route through Northern Arkansas. I will wave to them as I see them next, and say a prayer for Jim. He would have loved this route.
