Anniversary Dinner

My oldest Son, during dinner last night, advised me that him and his Brother are going to take me out for Dinner Aug 13th, what would have been mine and Tim's 37th wedding anniversary.

I am racked with sadness and crying today. I don't know if it's because I realize that It's not a day of celebration anymore, no more gifts, or the reminder that Tim won't be there.

In some ways I would perfer to be home by myself where I could cry and I guess feel sorry for myself. But I know that they are grieving to and this night is as much for them as it is for me.

How sweet! It sounds like you and Tim have raised 2 amazing young men. If Wednesday evening comes and you cannot face going out, ask the boys for a raincheck. I'm sure they will understand. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Wait and see how you are feeling on the 13th. As Mary said, I am sure they would understand if you did not want to go out. However, you might find great comfort by being with your sons. That day is also my mother's birthday. She would have been 81. I will be thinking of you!! Sue.

August 29 will be my 42 anniversary. I'm flying to NY for my sons wedding! Both very sad and exciting.

I hope you have a wonderful dinner with your boys! Your husband will be smiling down on his family being together on your special day of remembrance. Good luck to you Sandi. I really hope it's a good day for you. You are blessed to have your sons close by.

Just got past our 37th anniversary. It was hard and of course I turned to eating. Something I do when I am so stressed. I did make it through that date and feel better. You are right, your sons are grieving also. It is alright to cry and your sons will understand. Hope the diner goes well.

I am so sorry for your loss.
August 13 has been your day you know so well. You know exactly what your anniversaries are supposed to feel like, but now everything has changed. Changed is a poor choice of words. I hope the time with your children on that day is healing time for you and for them. Thinking of Tim will bring tears to your eyes. For now they are tears you need, let them be, you need them. Someday as you remember him, your tears will become mixed with smiles again.

It sounds like you have amazing and very loving sons. How wonderful for you. You have to remember that your husband will be with you and your sons in spirit. Just believe.

    My mom passed away on June 18th. I was her cargiver and only child. Although she was 89 years young and it was "expected" I don't know how to BREATHE without her. I stay busy throughout the day but I can only do that so long until I burn out! I'm all alone now and don't know what I'm going to do!! I can only fake it for so long. I'm TIRED of losing my people!!!!
